A little history :
The Hotel Miramar was built on the initiative of Pierre Bermond, a lawyer in Nice, on a plot of undeveloped land at the corner of La Croisette and Rue Pasteur. He entrusted the project to architects Dalmas père et fils (Nice) and Alexandre Arluc (Cannes), who designed a modern hotel in line with the standards of the time, with 280 rooms on 7 floors (+ 3 luxury apartments). The architecture is luminous, halfway between Belle Époque and Art Deco.
The project was completed extremely quickly. The building permit application was submitted on August 2, 1927, the foundation stone laid on March 31, 1928, and the building inaugurated on January 29, 1929.
Like other Côte d'Azur palaces during the Second World War, the Miramar was requisitioned in 1944, then transformed into an apartment building in 1955 by architect Eugène Lizero. It then became the Palais Miramar.
On rue Pasteur, part of the ground floor was converted into a municipal auditorium and gallery for temporary exhibitions, under the name "Espace Miramar".
Finally, in 2008, a contemporary volume of eight luxury boutiques - 65 Croisette - was created along the Croisette against the building's first floor.
